EPSI has great pride in explaining how the present logo was derived. The word alphabet is derived from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet alpha (α) & beta (β). EPSI was derived from the 5 th alphabetical letter used by ancient Greeks, which is known as “ Epsilon ” (ε is the symbol represented within the triangle). |
Epsilon was then cut short to EPSI and hence the present logo was derived. EPSI logo is now a registered trademark of Epsi Computers (Pvt) Ltd.
How it all Began? From BITS to BYTES
“The founders of Epsi Computers are Muhunthan & Niranjan Canagasooriyam, the two brothers who started their passion for computers as mere teenagers from a hobby and ventured into a small enterprise business. It was in the early 1990s, they engaged themselves with the selling of computer peripherals within a network of friends. They aspired to new heights when they saw their once home study-room business developed successfully placing Epsi Computers today as leaders of the IT industry in Sri Lanka.”
Started with LKR 150,000 (USD 1,500) borrowed from their academic father a Chartered Accountant by profession was the humble beginning of Epsi Computers (Pvt) Ltd.
“A vote of sincere gratitude & appreciation goes out to Mr. K.S. Canagasooriyam (father), whose vast knowledge in the field of Finance & Software Development – assisted us and shed light to the birth of Epsi Computers (Pvt) Ltd in 1990”

In 1992, EPSI Computers (Pvt) Ltd was registered as a limited liability company, since then has expanded rapidly diversifying into the marketing and distribution of an array of advanced high quality products in the field of IT.
Since the start of EPSI, Innovation and Technology has always been an inspiration to everyone within the company.

Over the years, EPSI has won several distinguished awards both locally and internationally. Infotel (www.lanka.net/infotel2000), Sri Lanka’s largest IT exhibition, awarded EPSI with the “Most Innovative Booth” in 1998 and the “Most Futuristic Booth” in 2002. Furthermore EPSI took home the most prestigious “Golden Partner Award” at the 10 th anniversary of Viewsonic held in Taipei in 2000.
